In 2002, Freddie Mercury took 58th place in the survey of “100 Greatest Britons”, organized by BBC. In 2005, Blender magazine conducted a survey, according to which Freddy took second place among vocalists (first among men). In 2008, Rolling Stone magazine ranked him 18th on the Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “100 Greatest Vocalists of All Time”. Goblin is difficult to classify as a pure metalist, but their active involvement in the composition of soundtracks for horror films makes them similar to the iron guys. This Italian group originally had a much more harmless name – Cherry Five. Their music debuted in Dario Argento’s film Blood Red. Since then, they often collaborated with the director, and they also gained worldwide fame thanks to him by writing the soundtrack for the film “Suspiria”, which many critics consider the peak of Argento’s work. Since then, Goblin sounds have been recognized worldwide thanks to ominous whispers in the background. The soloist of the group, Massimo Morante, personally whispered and mumbled into the microphone for each recording – and it turned out very convincingly. A peculiar point of the report in the history of rock was the appearance of the notable “Liverpool four” of the Beatles group, which created a furor throughout the world and contributed to the opening of a completely new era – the era of rock and roll.
