INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT BI-2 GROUP
Bi-2 is a Russian rock band. The founders of the group are Shura Bi-2 and Leva Bi-2. The group was founded in the city of Bobruisk (Belarus) in 1988, but resumed activity only after moving to Russia in 1999. Bi-2 is one of the most successful groups in Russia.
First, the team received the name “Brothers in Arms”, later “Coast of Truth” and only after some time the group was renamed “Bi-2”. The guys toured with concerts in Belarus, visited the Mogilev Rock Festival.
In the early 90s, the guys moved to Israel, later to Australia, where they are engaged in creative activities as authors and composers, as well as performing as part of the Chiron team.
Interesting facts about the “Bi-2”
Lyova and Shura Bi-2 speak Hebrew.
Group Bi-2 performed at the KHL Stars Match 2013.
At the end of August 2014, Bi-2 presented a video for their song “Drafted into the Army” from album # 16plus. According to the fans of the collective, the composition describes the war between the fraternal peoples of Ukraine and Russia. For example, in the song there are lines “I, frankly, did not think that it could be so, Who was my friend yesterday, today is my enemy” and “They throw us a victory over the weak like a bone”. The clip for the song deserves special attention. In it, musicians appear on a white background in perfectly white costumes. And after the second verse, white becomes covered with red, like blood. Musicians try to avoid this “blood”, but when there is nowhere to retreat, their costumes turn completely red.
Most of the album tracks were recorded at Parameterika Studios by Sergei Bolshakov, a Moscow sound engineer.
In Israel, Shura and Leva initially had to do things that were far from music: for example, at first they worked as security guards at a construction site. But soon the Bi-2 group will have new songs and performances, albeit in an unstable composition, at festivals and club venues. The style of the group is changing: preference is given to acoustic sound and careful arrangements. At that time, those things were written that would later be included in the group’s official number albums – the upcoming hit “Barbara” and the equally famous song “With You”.
In music, the influence of Western styles, often unfamiliar to the Russian listener, is significant. The sources of inspiration for the musicians were such post-punk bands as: “The Cure”, “Joy Division”, “The Sisters Of Mercy”, as well as “Agatha Christie”. Bi-2 texts are rich in references to works of literature and cinema.
