MATTHEW SO FROM BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE FACTS AND QUOTES
On January 20, 1980, in the Welsh city of Bridgend, Matthew Tuck was born – the illustrious leader of perhaps the most popular metalcore band of the first decade of the 21st century, Bullet for my Valentine. At the beginning of the new millennium, these guys shook the heavy scene and firmly entered themselves in the history of modern music. Matt So became the idol of youth, for whom 2007 is something epoch-making.
The highest member of the group – his height is 180 cm.
I fell in love with heavy music after I saw Metallica Enter Sandman on MTV. Matt was 14 years old, and he got into the idea of playing heavy metal guitar.Frankly hates pop and indie.
At 16, he founded his first punk band called Trauma. It was there that he met drummer Michael Thomas, nicknamed Mus.
Since adolescence, she loves the music of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Motley Crue, Megadeth, Pantera, Metallica. Of the younger teams, Matt singles out DragonForce and Killswitch Engage.
Studying at Bridgend College, Matt founded the band Jeff Killed John, who at the beginning of his career played covers for Metallica and Nirvana. Gradually, the guys headed for the performance of nu metal. The team pretty well gained momentum, and from 1998 to 2003 the guys released 5 mini-albums.
The inspirers of Matt in the guitar business were James Hetfield and Zakk Wilde.
He is fond of collecting sports cars, likes to watch horror films, surf the Internet, collect guitars and compose music in his free time.
On March 25, 2010, Matt became a father. He had a son, Evan Matthew Christopher Tuck.
In the fall of 2005, he was hospitalized with serious alcohol poisoning. The group had to cancel a number of performances. BFMV leader’s alcohol problems often crawled out. Now Matt has become calmer with strong drinks.
In July 2016, Matthew went to the matches of the Wales football team to support his home team at Euro 2016.
Harmonica, piano, drum kit – instruments that Matt loves and knows how to play.
Since 2012, Matt Tuck has been a member of British-Canadian super band AxeWound. The team has two numbered albums. The musical style of the group combines the elements of groove metal and metalcore.
At different times, Matt So used guitars from Jackson, B.C. Rich and Gibson. The BFMV leader has a signature guitar from Jackson.
I would like to play in a band like Guns N ’Roses or Motley Crue. These are very cool rock and roll bands! These guys wrote the rules on how to be a rock star, hang out and generally have a good time in the 80s. Definitely would like to be in Motley Crue!
It may sound like a cliché, but my life has changed a lot since I became a father. This is the meaning of humanity. It makes my heart melt, but it’s damn hard at the same time, because I really miss it.
It actually took me a long time to get the courage to mentally and physically stand up for myself, it was a very important moment for me. I went through this and suddenly I grew up into a young man who is able to fend for himself. The band has actually become something big and special, like a big fuck you all.
In general, I had rather ordinary fears: in childhood they were all sorts of monsters, in my youth I began to be afraid of death – everything was like everyone else. But today I just don’t feel anything, I just want to enjoy life.
We do what we do and record only the songs we like, without thinking about how youthful they are. If you start to constantly think about how to please different age audiences, then this will be borne out by the brain, and secondly, you will simply stop being honest.
When you are in a rock band, you think that you have everything: money, fame, expensive cars, luxury villas, millions of fans around the world. Speaking of girls, you can get anything, but there will always be something that you cannot get … some one that is not available to you.
