15 BEST HEAVY METAL GROUPS OF ALL TIMES AND PEOPLES (part 1)

Metal rockers are great guys! They give fans of heavy music the opportunity to shout and shake their heads – in short, to feel like teenagers at any age. And they invariably delight everyone else with a colorful show, appearing on stage with either dog’s heads or now in extraterrestrial spacesuits. In a word, even if you are not happy with their music, you can enjoy watching them by turning off the sound. Let’s see who should be admired in the first place.

Gwar

Even if you are not a fan of metal, you may have heard of the band ‘Gwar’. Well, something, and these guys know how to give shows, as well as arrange scandals worthy of getting on the front pages of the largest world newspapers. The guys from Richmond, Virginia, have been on the scene since 1984 – and that’s something, it means. Music critics claim that their music concerts do not shine with originality and sound quality, that they are too graphic – so what? First, look at their signature monster costumes – it’s only because of them that you should go to their concert! But with caution, their every concert turns into a scandal because they like to pour fake blood, urine and sperm from the stage with spectators. They say that the most well-meaning of the audience are so horrified that the assurances of the unnaturalness of the liquids do not act on them, and this nightmare haunts them until the end of days.

Pantera

The Abbot brothers from Arlington, Texas, founded their group back in 1981, deciding to play in the style of glam rock. But in the late 1980s, firing one of the band’s members, guitarist Terry Glaze, they firmly switched to heavy metal. After the release of the album ‘Power Metal’ in 1988, the group found an even heavier sound, and the next album, ‘Far Beyond Driven’, brought them fame as one of the best metal bands in the world. Alas, in 2004 the band’s leader and guitarist, Dimbag Darrell Abbott, was shot dead by a fan during a concert at a Texas club. If you are a fan of heavy music, be sure to listen: this is real old thrash metal without the glamorous latex coating that is now fashionable.

Judas priest

This legendary British band was created in 1969. During this time, according to rough estimates, more than 45 million Judas Priest records have been sold worldwide. For many years, the musicians remained faithful to their original style and their fans. But everything changed in 1988, with the release of the album ‘British Steel’, after which two fans of the group committed suicide – according to moralists, under the influence of one of the songs on the album. A trial followed, during which, of course, the corpus delicti was not found in the actions of the musicians. But the group made a fuss and reappeared in the headlines. Since then, Judas Priest have remained classics. The guys even appeared in a cameo in the famous animated series about Bvis and Butt-head, again proving that they know how to keep pace with the times.

Danzig

In 1987, New Jersey singer Lodi and songwriter Glenn Danzig teamed up with the rock band Danzig. Their leisurely style reminds many of Black Sabbath, which the guys themselves call their inspiration. Their first breakthrough was the soundtrack to the film “Less than Zero,” where their song “You and Me” became the main theme. After that, April came to taste and again thundered (literally) in the popular film “The Hangover”, successfully fitting into him with the central composition of ‘Thirteen’. Of course, after such success, the music for the film “Bachelor Party-2” was also ordered to them. In the near future, Danzig will surprise us again: soon an album of covers of the group, where metallers re-hit hits of Elvis Presley, is due out. Do not miss!
